Last election Wallace was elected with the Black Vote—he did a great deal for race relation toward the end—he wasn’t always a Dixiecrat-Democrat.

He might have, I know he stated he was wrong on race division. But for the Politico to write what they did was a flat out re-write of history.

Being from Alabama....I would note that Wallace wasn’t really a Democrat, independent, or Republican. He mostly blended into anything you desired, promising just about anything, and was simply a guy with a flair for public speeches (my dad took me one episode around 1966).
