It’s about power. They don’t want to be shut out. Manchin already has more to fear, as WV is rapidly realigning back to the GOP (which it had been last from 1895-1933) and he’ll likely be the sole federal Democrat come January (with the replacement of Rockefeller and the defeat of Rahall).
