Sarah Palin urges conservatives to rally around Pat Roberts

When Pat Roberts faced a conservative primary challenge this summer, he did what most Republican senators have learned to do: turn hard right. Now, facing an unexpectedly strong independent challenge, Roberts is doubling down.

On Thursday, the three-term Kansas senator turned to tea party darling Sarah Palin to rally voters behind his flagging campaign. The former Alaska governor praised Roberts for standing with Sen. Ted Cruz a year ago during his marathon floor speech against President Obama's healthcare law, which preceded a strategy that resulted in a government shutdown.

"He [was] one of the few senators fulfilling campaign promises, doing what the American people asked him to do, standing there on the floor with Sen. Ted Cruz to do what they could to get rid of Obamacare," Palin said.

"If she's all in for Pat Roberts, then it's clearly apparent that he has carefully evaluated all of the factors, weighed them in the balance of prudence and rendered a sound judgement. She's earned the trust of thoughtful people.

Go Pat go! Go Sarah go! Destroy DemonRATS! Restore American values! Woo hoo!"

Re_nortex, why don't you carefully evaluate all of the factors, weigh them in the balance of prudence and render a sound judgement yourself instead of letting someone else decide for you?

Good grief.

The GOP has done nothing since Reagan. They aren’t interested in winning. A majority of DemocRats with an R behind their name. I’m not the problem. The GOP is. GOP - Conservatives = Whigs. They’re DOA.

Our country is DOA if we don't take back the Senate.

You would rather have someone in there that agrees with you ZERO% of the time, than someone who agrees with you 80% of the time???

Those folks aren’t democrats, they are just pissed. They haven’t yet figured out that sitting out in a snit only enables Obama to run as a dictator.

TWO PEOPLE, Hairy Reid and Eric Holder have made Obama’s fiat rule possible. Hairy allows nothing to hit the Senate floor and then pontificates how Congress is do nothing so Obama has to take the reins. Reid has even evoked the nuclear option.

HE HAS TO GO, and besides, wouldn’t it be nice to not have to hear that sleazy corrupt scarecrow slander and smear nice people?

Holder is Obama’s chief henchman because he concocts the corruption and covers the crimes. He is leaving but I am sure Obama has another sleazebag crone to fill his shoes.

Making Obama’s life more difficult pleases me and obviously it pleases Sarah Palin too. We win the Senate, Obama will be forced to veto everything. Won’t be pleasant for him. His cover boy, Hairy Reid will be neutered.

We’re already DOA. $17T in debt from both parties. The GOP isn’t interested in winning. Ya might start trying to convince them. Not one dime’s worth of difference.

Bonor and McCornhole have helped Soetoro tons. The GOP is equally complicit.

I am not giving those fools a pass, but I sure as hell am not giving Hairy and company a pass either. Losing only empowers people like Boehner to help the dems to act like he isn’t obstructing the motion.

Roberts ain’t bad enough to stay home.

Explain to me how continuing to elect people whose behaviors you regularly complain about outside of election season is desirable.

I don’t care if Adolf Hitler is the opponent. You do not improve our lot as a country by electing people whose behaviors and actions stand in stark opposition to everything you CLAIM you believe in, in anything but an election year.

Tell me when exactly you FEEL the Dems will stop running evil idiots so that it will be acceptable to vote for a conservative. I mean lets face it...every election, same crap. “Oh we can’t THIS TIME because THIS TIME is super extra world ending/life as a species could end election!”

Every year, same crap.Every year, more leftism enters the Right.

So when exactly will you be ready to either stand up on your hind legs with the rest of us or just admit that you are moderate and find rinos acceptable options? When?

Pick one and go with it.

Same words said in 80, 10, 12 and now in 14.

The word ‘last’...I do not think it means what you think it means as we have survived three ‘lasts’ already. That should be a clue that your logic is in error.

Well, I hope I’m not guilty of “situational ethics.” I generally don’t think so. I’ve really grown to have an innate distrust of the GOP, after being a lifelong GOP voter. Takes a lot of time and effort to really sift through and gauge which candidates I’m willing to give my vote to. The rancid nature of the opponent is rarely if ever a factor.

I refused to give my vote to Romney, the first GOP-er I withheld my vote from, for two prime reasons... because he helped facilitate homo-marriage in his own state as governor, and because of the putrid advisors he surrounded himself with (Stevens, Madden, etc.), who repeatedly trashed, backstabbed and undermined Palin and the tea party, to their donor class and their lib buddies in the media. Romney and his ilk can just go burn in hell. Not a day goes by in which I’m not glad I didn’t sell my soul by voting for that damnable scumbag.

Pat Roberts? I dunno. Part of the ossified political class that desperately needs to be dumped. But has he really crossed those lines with me, that Romney did? Like the vast majority of corrupt, GOP-E beltway elites? I’m not entirely sure, but I don’t think so. Would a vote for Roberts continue to empower the corrupt Boehner/McConnell types in the leadership roles? Or would a Roberts defeat hurt them? Or would it really matter, as the GOP leadership will remain just as loathesome as they now are? Maybe those matters are moot, and it will just be good to have another breathing body in the Senate who is anti-amnesty and an apparently reliable social conservative? Lot of variables to weigh. And luckily, since I’m not a Kansan, I don’t really have to weigh them. From afar, I’d probably lean towards voting for him.

As always, you and the no matter what crowd have yet, after several years, to actually point out the flaw you claim exists. Why not break tradition and show the class what that might be.

Still waiting to see the flaw in my logic. Or did you just pull that comment out of a hate with no intention of backing it up in the hopes someone would buy it?

Have the integrity to show us all the error in documented fact.

At least once a day, somewhere across the internet, someone stands up. A shining tribute to the sheer glory...the brilliance of the light...created by the stupid burning.

You are today’s example. Revel in the sheer awesome of it all.
