Actually, oil is the valid reason to go to war in the modern world. Resources have ever been the reason countries go to war, whatever their public justifications. Resources are the lifeblood of nations and civilizations and oil in the modern world provides the source of and the ability to obtain most other vital resources. Without access to oil, a western nation becomes Albania.
