Since when is the NFL in charge of punishing criminal behavior?
Their only response should be that any player CONVICTED of such a crime is suspended or expelled.
There is no courtroom in the NFL- they just view a video and pronounce judgment?
Why is Rice not CRIMINALLY charged for this? If the victim does not prosecute, how should the NFL?

Actually, I saw a good argument that the fact it was about Goodell and the NFL was beside the point - Simmons basically bad-mouthed his own employer (ESPN) and implied that he has dirt on them that he’s willing to dish. If that were my employee, I’d probably suspend him for that, likely as a first step to firing.
A 2 week ( 2 game ) suspension for coldcocking a woman. A 3 week suspension for calling the NFL commissioner a liar..

ican agree with your post, butt my sports buddy’s theory is this is being setup for godell’s outster., kinda like the donald sterling’s ouster as clipper owner. It was all an act so sterling could get $2B... taxfree.
ifgodell is on his way out, (and simmons is just a pawn, look for him toget a better job at more money, or stay 4more.
Remember, the nfl’s real competition is “sons of anarchy.” (Love katy segal).

Ratings are DOWN??? Really??? Google 'NFL TV ratings'....they are variously stated as 'up', 'soaring', 'high'.....but NEVER 'down'. If you apply your reasoning to the health professional's upcoming bill for services, I can forsee another rant coming.
