but not as powerful as an assault rifle. My basic point was it did not matter if it was a toy gun, bb gun, pellet gun or air rifle, the Police based there actions on the information provided by the 911 caller. It was wrong, but you can't fault the Police on the actions they took.

I agree. I checked out my Walmart today. Same setup as this. Tools from hardware, I could have a fully loaded AR in 2 mins.

Take a look at this image. Would the police be justified in shooting him with a drop gun and almost immediate shot which is what appeared to happen when you listen to the synced 911 tape and the video.

So what do you do when you have a rifle slung at your chest when an officer of the law commands you to drop it? He gives you one second to comply.

This really can’t be compared to this situation because someone did not call 911 and claim this guy was waving a rifle around and pointing it at children. And for what it’s worth this guy and people like him give the second amendment supporters a bad rap, I have a concealed carry permit and a safe full of guns, rifles and shotguns but i prefer to keep my weapons concealed. Plus it really doesn’t help the cause parading guns and rifles out in public to make a statement and it just might get you killed!

IMO, they are all dumb-asses. What are you going to prove walking into a Starbucks to get coffee holding an AR 15? I can tell you right now if I am in a Starbucks and some guy walks in with an AR 15, I am not going to feel uncomfortable. I don't know if he is making a political statement or he is some whack job that is waiting for.the right time to start spraying bullets everywhere. Again, these people are NOT helping the cause. They just make it worse and put companies in a no win situation. If these people want to walk into stores with a holster sidearm they probably don't get much notice. But walking in with an AR 15 or other type assault rifle into a coffee shop or grocery store it makes people uncomfortable and that is not right.
