“Even growing up in a home where the parents remained together is no guarantee when surrounded by a peer group who suffers the effects.”

There have been studies that show even kids in good families view their parents as “divorced”. Weird - but it is so pervasive. I recall years ago had an argument with my wife over something, and one of the kids said “You’re not getting a divorce are you!!??”

You just can’t see that many families fall apart without it having some effect. When I grew up, divorce was pretty rare. A generation later, fairly common, and in the industry I work in, it is not uncommon for guys to have multiple failed marriages (long spells away from home don’t help). Nowadays, no wonder the younger set is gunshy.
