I don’t know why this Ruth Buzzi wannabe thinks another whack-job leftist like herself couldn’t be confirmed. She was confirmed 96-3, even though it was known her views were outside the mainstream of American jurisprudence, let alone outside the belief in strict construction and original intent.
I find it hard to believe the marshmallows who hold Republican Senate seats today would put up much more than token opposition, if that, to the nomination of a clone of this Stalinist justice.
Oh, they’ll ask her some tough-sounding questions so they’re seen as doing so by the base, but then they’ll pronounce themselves satisfied with the nominee’s (non) answers and vote for him/her/it anyway.
