The Pope believes that World War Three had already begun. But unlike WWI and WWII that happened all at once, the current war is happening in stages - this he said during a private meeting with a congregation of Jewish leaders headed by Ronald S. Lauder on Sept 17 at Pope's house in Santa Marta.
Speaking during the World Jewish Congress press conference, Lauder had quoted the Pope to highlight the significant point of discussion that came out of the meeting. He said that the Pope compared the current attacks against Christian to the plight suffered by the Jews in the past. Lauder said that they were "in absolute agreement" in condemning the rampant and savage killing of Christians in the Middle East.
"He said first it was your turn and now it is our turn. In other words, first Jews suffered savage attacks that were met with the world's silence and now it is Christians who are being annihilated and the world is silent," Lauder expounded.
Lauder on the other hand is personally shocked at how people and countries around the world seemed not to be petrified about the extensive killing of Christians in Iraq and Syria. He found it particularly perplexing as to "why doesn't the world react?" while there had been a "tremendous" attention in Israel as it shield itself against thousands of missiles fired at it by the terrorists; but, how come that there was "not a word for the thousands of Christians in Iraq, Syria, and the Middle East." He underlined that Israel is the only safe country in the Middle East for Christians. In Israel, Christians can populate. The world "does not have the luxury of remaining silent," he reiterated.
Lauder, a businessman and a philanthropist and the son of cosmetics giant Estee Lauder, had always been calling the world's attention on the oppression of Christians. In fact, he had been calling for the Jews to speak up on behalf of the Christians. "The Middle East and parts of central Africa are losing entire Christian communities that have lived in peace for centuries," he wrote in a recent op-ed published in The New York Times.
The Pope had first spoken of World War III during a centenary celebration of World War I at the Redipuglia cemetery in Italy. At that time, he described the war as a "piecemeal." From his homily, it was obvious that he is not strange to the pain suffered during war. His grandfather had fought during the Austro-Hungarian empire in 1917 - 1918. He had always call for the abolishment of conflicts happening in Iraq, Syria, Gaza, Ukraine and parts of Africa.
That he would have the same reaction as one of his predecessors...Pope Pius V.
Rather, WW 3 was the cold war. We are in the WW 4 era now.
Actually I think His Holiness is partially right. But I believe we are nearing the end times and the Beast or Anti-Christ will be the “Mhadi” who brings muslims together under his rule setting up a caliphate at that point both Jews and Christians will be the target

Interesting. Thanks for posting/commenting.
This has come up before on this list. Yes, this is WW III (or the next WW, however you count them). But unlike others, this is not being fought with powerful armies, tanks, or superior air power. It is being fought with hate - pure evil. Yes, it really is a religious war (just ask those who have declared it so!) The problem is we have completely disarmed ourselves to fight this kind of war - we have “disarmed” our leaders of any moral/religious compos. (Not all, of course - but certainly those now in power.) It will not turn out well until that is corrected. Until then, God Help US!!
Just as Obola intended
Keep your eye to the sky, and your powder dry...
A more accurate view IMHO. Jews! Christians! We are in this together. As Ben Franklin said, we all hang together or we hang separately.
The next Crusade perhaps.
Just as Obola intended
Exactly right. Obola is as evil as anyone who has ever lived on the planet.
Indeed! I pray the Jews who put politics first wake up.
“Lauder on the other hand is personally shocked at how people and countries around the world seemed not to be petrified about the extensive killing of Christians in Iraq and Syria.”
First off is ignorance. I mentioned the beheading of Children in Iraq to my Aunt recently. Her response was that I was just repeating Internet lies! If they don’t hear it coming in on network news then they don’t know about it and they can’t believe it. They can however believe lies and propaganda reported to them by that same network news.
You have spoken the truth.
Watch for the Catholic Church becoming part of that too, will be a good indicator it’s the end.
The one world religion etc, good times.
The protections afforded Christian Israelis are not relevant to Christians in Lebanon (Maronite), Syria and Iraq, since those Christians cannot emigrate to Israel. The only option is to claim refugee status in the West. The UN, however, effectively gives preference to Muslims, who to a great extent are refugees in name only.
Indeed! I pray the Jews who put politics first wake up.
So the Pope complains the world is silent about the killing of Jews and Christians. Well, I read the article and I don't see where he identifies the attackers as Islamists or Marxists. What a wimp.

Huh. We probably ought to make it a point to carry a few pics and videos in our smartphones to show to people. They’ll still try to deny it, but let the imagery sink in anyway.
With all due respect, who cares what this Pope thinks?
Pope John XXIII or Urban II he is not.
What a disappointment
