Via NRO, nothing says “slow news Friday” like a lazy post devoted to half-assed speculation.
On the one hand, he’s an old Democrat with friends in the Democratic establishment. He might conceivably have heard something from a friend who’s heard something from someone who’s in a position to know. On the other hand, I haven’t seen a single other liberal in media anywhere say anything about an October surprise. What’s most likely? That Bob Beckel, Fox News liberal, is somehow more tapped in to the White House than MSNBC? That lots of other lefties in media know what he’s talking about here but have held their tongues, with not even so much as an anonymous quote leaking into the NYT or WaPo? Or that he’s talking out of his ass?
Listen closely through the crosstalk and you’ll hear him say he thinks it has to do with national security. The only potential “October surprise” material I’m aware of lately is the rumor that Zawahiri was killed in a U.S. airstrike in Waziristan. A defense official already denied that, though. Maybe BB’s heard that we’ve picked up his scent and are trying to zap him before November, so that Obama can reverse some of the gruesome numbers he’s been putting up lately on foreign policy. I wonder, though, how long that bounce would last: Getting Zawahiri wouldn’t pack the same punch that getting the more iconic Bin Laden did, although of course it would pack some. If you want to get Americans high-fiving, take out the new “caliph,” al-Baghdadi, instead. Or better yet, take out both.
Bobbie Boy must be back on the sauce again!!!
He must be
Well, maybe he doesn’t know anything.
But the Dems will certainly stage an October surprise if they can think one up. Anything to win the election and secure more power.
Another Trayvon Martin or Michael Brown?
what’s his surprise??? his fat arse will be 80 pounds heavier???
Or perhaps someone has heard of a Republican effort along these same lines, and his is an effort to attack first.
Just saying.
The current “unrest” over those minor incidents is building slowly but surely in a seemingly orchestrated fashion. I SMELL a big one coming
Libs say the killing of muslims is what brings about more hatred of America and more people joining the jihad.
If we go by this logic, then wasn’t the killing of Bin Laden a bad thing? Wouldn’t that have been what has given rise to ISIS? And won’t the killing of Zawahiri further “inflame the muslim world?”
They want it both ways.
Why does the Jackass Party even need an October surprise when the enemedia carries water for them? An October surprise would be if the Stupid Party ever grew a spine and started running ads which threw real punches.
Hmmmm.....why am I thinking of terrorists who blow themselves up as they try to construct a bomb?
“Another Trayvon Martin or Michael Brown?”
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Close. The cop who shot Brown will be acquitted, which, shall we say, will “motivate” the Democrat base.
That stuff works both ways, although you don’t hear much about it the other way, except as “racism” from the press.
I (completely) agree.
Fox is the only network which will even begin to print news which isn’t a complete sell-out to Obama.
Even then, they’re very, very far from a true opponent. What are they now, 12% owned by Arabs or some such?
We really, really, really need a strong pro-American voice, and we need to become strongly pro-American in trade.
My thought. I predict the sun will come up tomorrow. Do I need inside information to make that prediction?
The real surprise will be if the Repubs take the Senate.
get ready for a November surprise Bob.
But so many conservatives say they will not vote for certain Republican Senate candidates that in the words of Hillary Clinton, What diiference does it make?
What can they do they already haven’t??
