Full title: Ambassador Power touts international support against Islamic State but won't name countries, commitments

The U.S. ambassador to the United Nations said Sunday that the American-led effort to destroy the terror group Islamic State has support from more than 40 countries, but declined to name them or the extent of their support.

“It’s up to the individual country,” Ambassador Samantha Power told ABC’s “This Week.”

France last week joined the United States in airstrikes against Islamic State targets in Iraq, and Saudi Arabia has offered to help train moderate anti-Islamic State group fighters.

However, what remains unclear is whether Turkey and such Arab States as Egypt and Qatar will join in the airstrikes, also pending in Syria, or send combat troops in join Iraqi forces in the fight against Islamic State, also known as ISIS or ISIL.

Power predicted Sunday that the United States “will not do airstrikes alone” and acknowledged that the effort to destroy Islamic State would take “several years.”

Turkey, situated along the Iraqi and Syrian border, has the second-largest army in NATO and is home to the U.S. Air Force base Incirlik.

These are probably the countries that exchanged a hello before hanging up the phone. The rest let it roll to voice mail.

They are embarrassed now because they're running against Bush's record.

Obama is never able to put together coalitions for deals. Remember that Asian deal they were supposed to get? Obama tried to scramble when he went to Asia to get it but it was a bust.

Memories of Bush's speech to the UN and he following achievements now come to mind. First Bush got his vote in Congress. Then he went to the UN and got his vote there. Powers is scrambling now because she's up against the Bush record. Will Obama's UN speech achieve the same results as Bush's? Doubt it. Obama has done nothing to work with these countries; why should they commit to him?

Mark Steyn story from 9-13-14: There is a disinclination to believe his promises, said Mustafa Alani of the Gulf Research Center in Dubai.

“We have reached a low point of trust in this administration,” he said. “We think in a time of crisis Mr. Obama will walk away from everyone if it means saving his own skin.”

I doubt it too.

0bama is not respected in the world whether the countries are allies or adversaries, he's made a mess of foreign relations and is not trusted.
