We use betadine on all skin breaks at my house. It’s the first thing my kids ask for.
I get it from farm supply stores. It’s used to dip the umbilical cord stub to dry it up and prevent infection. It’s much stronger than the people kind. Of course your skin is dyed orange for a few days, but it’s worth it.
