Way. I love the way the surfers and beachgoers are casually strolling by, not even glancing at the hundreds of large, green hairy balls strewn across the shoreline.
Following a link from the article, I see that just 4 weeks ago, on this same beach, the waves were lit up neon blue by bioluminescent plankton. Of the phenomena, an oceanographer who researched the environmental spectacle 10 years ago, said that "The algae appears due to a certain sequence of events that occur in the ocean, but that the exact environmental recipe for its occurrence is still unknown."
These particular Aussies must be getting used to the weird and unknown at their beach. How fun!
