Will Dems go all-out to beat Sen. Pat Roberts now?

Democrats won a key legal battle in the Kansas Senate race Thursday, but now the party faces a wrenching choice: Spend precious dollars to try and unseat Republican Pat Roberts in a solidly red state, or sit on the sidelines and pass up a chance to steal a seat — and potentially the Senate majority — from Republicans.

The ruling removed the Democratic candidate from the ballot, clearing the way for a showdown between Roberts and independent Greg Orman and, at least on paper, increasing the likelihood that the longtime senator can be beaten. A smattering of recent polls shows Roberts running even or trailing, creating a tantalizing opportunity for Democrats to go all in to finish off the incumbent. A win would all but dash GOP hopes of winning the Senate

Me too I’m stumped about that. As a Kansan, I don’t give a flip about where Pat Roberts lives, he could live on the moon for all I care. He is a good man, a marine vet, cares about veterans and has done a great job for us. What. The. Heck. I live here, and those hissers don’t . What’s that saying, don’t let the perfect become the enemy of the good.

Maybe some don’t agree with me about Pat Roberts being a food Senator. Great, let’s elect that other guy who won’t tell us squat and we have to dig, search, glean this, glean that. Whatever.

We know Pat Roberts. He doesn’t keep it a secret hoping you won’t find out. The other guy is a total crapshoot and to me, it’s the ultimate in dishonesty to talk in vague platitudes hoping that you will capitalize on some other vague discontent that the voters might have. It’s not going to work and I’m telling you folks, stop worrying about Pat Roberts.

“We need the Senate.”

Here in Oregon we have a gay-rights pubbie running against a hard-core leftist. The pubbie is running ads featuring the two “married” homosexuals who sued to overturn Christian marriage, and they are praising the republican’s stance on homosexual marriage.

I cannot imagine voting for such a person, but by not voting it may allow Dingy Harry to retain the senate!

I’m torn on what to do...

Ed

The Mass candidate for Governor is even farther left than Democrats. It’s crazy to vote for these cretins

This bogus ruling is going to hurt the Democrat Party in Kansas.

How many Democrats running on the same ticket will lose votes because Democrats won't vote a straight ticket.

I doubt it'll make a difference. The few Democrat legislators that are left are safe. None of the Congressmen have legitimate opponents. And other than the governor, Republicans are way ahead in their races. And even in the governorship, I don't think that Brownback is in anywhere near the trouble that people think he is.

McCaskill has supported Orman. She votes with Obama 98% of the time and calls herself a moderate because 49 Dems are more liberal than her.
