If the Yes side wins, then every part of Scotland that wants to remain part of the U.K. should be allowed to do so.

Don’t like being part of the U.K. because of some over exaggerated “oppression” you think you are suffering from? Then dont force others to be part of an independent country against their will either.

Oppression?...London funds their welfare state...which is why I hope they succeed to secede!

Scotland needs clear subdivision before such votes could be held. But I agree once they have been established and some years gone by then they should hold such their own referendom.

If Shetland is as liberals as you say, then Scotland probably would be better off without them.

That being said Scotland is probably going to lose this vote for Independence, but that don’t matter too much in the long run. They come this close they will try again and eventually they will convince enough of their countrymen that they can make it on their own once more. Scotland is a nation and was politically independent of England for most of it’s existences as a unified people not that this matter.
I can’t see the world or Scotland changing all that much as a separate nation particularly with NATO, the EU, and the UN. It just means the British get 2 votes in those bodies instead of 1. I don’t have a problem with that.
