When push comes to shove, they’ll vote to keep the checks coming.

I wonder how the vote would have gone if it had been a Conservative Capitalist party that had pushed for independence?

if they vote yes then it makes the UK right wing as all the scots will get their socialist dream.
If they vote no then it keeps the socialists in the UK and the Scots still get their welfare paid for by London.

Precisely. I have to chuckle at the posters who imagine some kind of independent conservative Scotland. Ha!

UK wont be anywhere near right wing, but the right wing will have a lot more say in the country. After this year, there will be actual right wing politicians in Westminster. Carswell is the first in a long time now he’s free from the Con platform.

There would have never been a vote, as there aren’t enough conservatives in Scotland to make a curling team.

most of Scotland is left wing so it would never have happened.
The people pushing for the yes vote are all in this for their own power.

When push comes to shove, theyll vote to keep the checks coming. Yes but both sides are claiming they are the only ones who will be able to keep the checks coming.
To: manc
Yes, but at least Alex Salmond and the Nationalists will be humiliated! Perhaps that is the (looong) road back..?

Scotland must have a very efficient socialist indoctrination curriculum in their public schools.
It is hard for me to imagine such uniformity of opinion in an intelligent well educated population without a thorough intentional misinformation campaign having been foisted upon the population.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the polls are underestimating support for remaining part of the UK. I bet there are lots of people who are afraid to say that they don’t support independence due to fear of retribution from Scottish nationalists. I don’t think I would trust some stranger on the phone who says he is taking a poll.

Do they have voter ID? Do they have a voting system that is easy to commit fraud in?

Any Scot in Scotland 16 and over can vote.
...but if you are a Scot anywhere else you can not vote. Even those in the military who are not in Scotland can not vote.
