Do you even know what that politician was trying to do?

Excuse me, but I need no lectures from you about surrendering freedom. That politician, who wanted to jail journalists for their reporting deserved what he got. I seem to remember reading this somewhere:

As a libertarian, your misunderstanding is alarming. Here is what he was trying to do. Does a libertarian value the freedom of the press?
