There is no doubt in my mind that the more veterans there are in a bureaucracy — the more incompetent the career bureaucrats will be revealed to be.
The idea is to get the best qualified people whether they’re a veteran or not. I mean, if you want a competent civil service.
The issue is government bureaucracy. Staff it with angels and it will turn into hell. The socialist notion that the system just needs the right people to make it work is crap. Apparently “conservatives” have the same faith in the federal leviathan.
