What is a “Toure”? Are we supposed to know who he is? What is his claim to fame that got him hired by MSNBC? What’s with this business of going by only one name?

I believe “Toure” gets his name from Sekou Toure, the first president of Senegal after they gained independence from France in the early 60s.
