Now granted, it's probably not the feds, or we'd have heard of more cases of this (unless it's a trial balloon to see what their masters will take sitting down), but who the heck does ANY gover-drone at ANY level think they are to be issuing diktats like these???? "Sorry for any inconvenience", hell. Should be more like "I'm so sorry for my limitless arrogance in trying to place myself ahead of these children's rightful guardians, I'll be committing seppuku in front of the flagpole at 3:00pm. All interested parties invited to attend."

Is there still anyone that does not realize that America is a communists dictatorship? Freedom is gone! And will never get it back because we have an entire Washington that is horribly in the garbage dump.
To: Still Thinking
I agree. If this were real the bureaucrat who wrote it would never end with “sorry for the inconvenience”.
More likely “bow down and grovel before me!”

Actually if a parent is SO IRRESPONSIBLE as to send their kids to public schools these days, I SERIOUSLY DOUBT they have the faculties needed to properly feed those kids.
So I don’t see a problem with this policy.

This a trial balloon by the Left.
If people respond in outrage, they'll say a "mistake was made on the part of a low-level staffer" and issue a half-apology.
But the foot will be in the door. Feds will craft policy that districts will not receive aid unless they abide by the Fed's nutrition standards.

the Health Coordinator for Federal Programs Preschool at [redacted].
That there is such a position is amazing. I would attack this position.

To The Principal:
Please excuse Timmy from attendance.
Enclosed is a note from my doctor indicating public school is harmful to his health and mental well being.
He will be returning to classes....never.
Signed,

I’d ask my doctor to write a sarcastic note saying something like this:
Dear Principal:
Susie Smith has been under my care for all of her 11 years. She has a profound love of personal freedom, the kind that, until your sort came increasingly into power in this country, we associated with life in the USA. She has a profound revulsion for centralized authority, including the notion that she must eat either the school lunch or nothing at all.
Accordingly, I write to advise you that she must be permitted to eat a home-packed lunch.
Yours in freedom,
Doctor Zhivago

What’s beyond me is the fact that parents allow these people to dictate to them concerning their children. I see it on my local news...moms (occasionally dads, in this brave new world of single mothers) who pout and complain about some such problem with a school.
I wouldn’t pout. I would walk in there and let them know that my child will bring lunch from home any time I see fit, and there will be no discussion of the matter.
