Its hard to miss the WadeMobile. Its the Nascar vehicle of Delaware politics.
Flamboyantly wrapped in neon red, stark white and sky blue with an outsize portrait of Kevin Wade emblazoned on the side, it has been prowling up and down the small state of Delaware ever since Wade, a Delaware businessman and politician, filed at the last minute for the slot as the Delaware GOPs candidate for the US Senate.
The car is an intriguing surprise to generally cool Delawareans, loudly blasting as it plays Wade speaking of his messages of common sense conservatism mixed with the classic country music song, Lord Have Mercy on the Working Man.
But Wade determined from the beginning not to make his race against freshman Senator Coons a mere token or symbol. The man is serious, and he has a background to prove hes serious. Wade is the founder and president of Philadelphia Control systems, Inc., of Christiana, DE, a consulting engineering firm specializing in data automation and production line optimization. He is also a seasoned public speaker who has previously run for office. Wade is widely popular across the republican spectrum evidenced by his 75% result in primary voting.
A first some did not take Wade seriously, as Delaware is a deep blue state and Chris Coons, his Democrat opponent, was widely regarded as having a lock on the senate seat. Coons, it was felt, even in some Republican circles, was safe.
But it seems Coons may not be so safe after all.

Huh??????
Not sure what the big deal is. Even ‘Rat utopias have a good contingent of R voters.
Here in MA, a recent state sinate race featured an R who did zero campaigning. no lawn signs, no campaign staff, nada. Maybe there was one not-well-attended debate. He got 40% of the vote.
Control of the Senate by non-Democrats? Could happen. Question is, if IF it happens, exactly what happens then? Where's the PROGRAM; The PLAN: THE LEADER?
When did DE last unseat an incumbent; was it Biden in 1972 over the liberal J. Caleb Boggs? They almost kicked out a Senator Williams in 1964 for daring to expose the Bobby Baker case.
A lot of “Republican” registrants are Democrat in disguise, like John V. Lindsay was for so many years.
The last time was when current ‘Rat senator Thomas Carper unseated Bill Roth in the 2000 general election.
Why that's just marvelous! IOW, Only 3/5 of the people of that district of the Commonwealth are utter Massholes. Progress!
“Progress” is on the side of the progressives here. The 40% I referred to is a fixed block, eroding over time as a good trickle moves out.
Including perhaps yours truly, at some point...

Wade doesn’t have a chance of winning this.
Coons has Harry Reid on his side and Wade has run for quite a few offices with no victory.
He’s a good guy all right but this state just keeps getting bluer.
Here’s hoping I’m wrong but do you guys want honesty or popcorn?
