Prime Minister Tony Abbott has raised the public alert of a terror threat in Australia to high,
Our security agencies have raised the alert level based on an accummulation of indicators, he said in a press conference today.
The terror level has been set at medium on the National Terrorism Public Alert System since the system was introduced in 2003.
The four levels include:
low terrorist attack is not expected
medium terrorist attack could occur
high terrorist attack is likely
extreme terrorist attack is imminent or has occurred.
The move is expected to mean greater security at public events.
It comes as Australia is set to play a greater role in efforts to fight IS in the Middle East.

Interesting that the move comes the day after 9/11 and just minutes after 9/11 ended on the East Coast of the US.
Might Obama have had something to do with the Aussies holding off on this move as long as they did?
Would’ve been much more sensible to do this before 9/11 Aussie time (38 hours earlier).
Perhaps Obama knows when his savage buddies plan to attack us and he’s going to use it to delay elections.
If thats the case, late October would be attack window.
I put nothing past Obama and his muslime bros.
Way past time to boot slimeys back to sand land!
Please Stay Alert Everyone ... and say a Prayer for Peace.
Who knew it would be the Aussie police who would leave a bomb at the airport?
lolz
Quite a few “Australians” have made their way to the Levant to join up with the black rag wavers, doing charming things while there like posing with severed heads, or having little boys pose with them and then posting the pictures to social media. Then there was the case of a local Mohammedan hive in Sydney raffling off one of the black rags.
