I have always had an issue with MLB going to extreme measures to recruit players outside the US when there are plenty here that can play just as well and are legal.

Yes. I watch probably over 100 games a year and attend quite a few.

In some cases yes. I am not advocating eradicating all non-Americans but I know several office/scouting type guys and have been told that sometimes they are encouraged to look outside our boundaries in lieu of home grown stock. It is about the money they save over the first couple years until arbitration sets in and all salaries go up.
