Terry O'Neill, the president of the National Organization for Women, has called for NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to resign, citing Ray Rice's assault on his now-wife as just one of many examples of the league's failure to act against domestic violence.
The NFL has lost its way. It doesn't have a Ray Rice problem; it has a violence against women problem," O'Neill said in a statement. "... The only workable solution is for Roger Goodell to resign and for his successor to appoint an independent investigator with full authority to gather factual data about domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking within the NFL community and to recommend real and lasting reforms."
In the release, NOW listed Rice, San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Ray McDonald, Carolina Panthers defensive lineman Greg Hardy and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones as examples of cases the league has failed to act on.

Yep, she never called for an investigation into Benghazi, three Americans dead and a Obama State department phony coverup story by Susan Rice on NBC. Nothing to investigate there, move on folks, nothing to see here, 'what does it matter?'
But unlike that non- scandal this domestic dispute requires national attention and that heads roll. Maybe Holder needs to take over like he did in Ferguson MO.
Couldn’t resist irony(hypocrisy) ping!
Just released, the official NFL response:
“Shut up and get me a beer.”
But NOW has no comment when it comes to Islamic daughters and wives being honor killed or ganitally mutilated in the name of their cult
I wonder what her view on Billy Clinton was?
And I would like to look 20 again, but it doesn't seem like anyone's listening. Oh...and, BTW, I'd like Terry O'Neill to STFU.
That was his ‘private business’
Why?
Bill supports/supported a woman's ‘right to choose her reproductive freedom’, as does Hillary
Maybe Goodell should come out against any abortion regulations to redeem himself.
Just curious. Does NOW have any position on the butchery of thousands of WOMEN my ISIS and their allies. NOW certainly has a very narrow range of vision when it comes to the actually existing “War on Women” in the world of Islam.
Of course, ranting against the NFL is the safer course. No NFL player will be tasked with cutting off her head.
Yeah, but that has nothing to do with football, which is NOW's real bailiwick.
Roger Goodell needs to go but not for the reason the NAGs want.
He has systematically sissified football and it is becoming unrecognizable. Much the same as NASCAR did, and that too is now unrecognizable from 20 years ago.
It’s easy to pick a fight with someone who won’t fight back. The NFL is an easy target. Muslims? Not so much. They would cut off her head in a second...and everyone would be too afraid to say anything.
kill four people? you don’t lose your job.
you watch the video cassette? You do lose your job
Or do they think employers should pay for clitorectomies?
Hypocritical whores.
But....but....but.....women are no different than men! They don’t need special treatment! She should have punched him back!
they sure had no interest in Bill Clintons abuse of women.
It's the height of hypocrisy for this organization (NOW) to demand the resignation of a guy who didn't abuse women but who punished a guy who did, yet they (still) support a guy (impeached former president clinton) who actually raped a woman and assaulted several others.
bump
“NOW wants football commissioner to resign.”
Sure, that’ll work. Ugly, bitchy broads have a lot of influence at the NFL.
On MSNBC all the women guests on shows follow the same script:
1) Big smile when introduced
2) Frown and show anger during segment, over GOP, men, Rush's joking comments. NFL, ...
3) Big smile during thanks and goodbye segment end.
Watch it sometime, its obviously scripted like clockwork
