Should the Pennsylvania State Police change the difficulty of its physical fitness test to help female applicants pass?
Talk show radio host Dom Giordano doesnt seem to think so and he was willing to bet most people agreed with him.
After a recent lawsuit by the United States Department of Justice against the state police was filed, stating that the difficulty of the test discriminated against women, Giordano, host the of the Dom Giordano Program on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, set out to see if the average person could pass. He set up an abbreviated version of the test in the parking lot of Andys Diner in Conshohocken Sept. 5 from 9 a.m. to noon and invited anyone interested to take the test.
Giordano said he set up the test after initially scoffing at the idea that women couldnt pass.
It got started because I thought this is ludicrous, he said, adding he felt the DOJ had bigger issues in the world to deal with than this. And its diminishing to women. Thats the way that I saw it. The women that we met here today are physically fit [and] strong. Theyre just moms; theyre not Olympic athletes. If you want to be a cop, you have to be fit and you certainly, at the beginning, have to be fit rather than 20 years down the line.
According to the state police, its test is divided into five sections: a vertical jump of 14 inches; a 1.5-mile run in 17 minutes, 48 seconds; a 300-meter run in 77 seconds; 13 pushups (no time limit); and an agility run of 23.5 seconds. Giordanos test included the pushups, the 300-meter run and the vertical jump....

Kind alike Police Academy?
A study from over a decade ago shows that women police officers use their weapons more frequently and with more deadly effect than men who have the brawn to address dangerous situations.
First of all, go to you tube and watch videos of crooks fighting with police while women cops are around. Almost always you will see the guy cops jump into the fight while the females flitter around the edges pulling feet or trying to be relevant. Second, there is a reason women dont play in the NFL, NBA and MLB and its called PHYSICAL differences. No matter how PC you are, women still do not have the upper body strength of men and lowering the standards only puts everyone involved at more risk. But I will give you this, the force looks very diverse and properly balanced, regardless of how many die due to lower standards.
I've heard Dom Giordano discuss this on his program over the past week or so. I am a 61 year old male in good health. I do exercise on a regular basis, but by no means would I describe myself as an athlete. I can pass this test without a problem. That being said, there's no way I could handle the day to day real world physical requirements faced by a Pennsylvania State Trooper.
Great. I assume he checked first to see if the average violent criminal is a girl. . . I'm sorry, folks. Lot of well-intentioned people involved. But female cops are, in terms of effectiveness, embarrassing. By taking on the mantle of public order and being as un-intimidating as they are, they endanger the public just by standing therebecause they embolden bad actors with bad attitudes.
And my gosh, never mind if someone needs to be taken down. Tell me if I'm being inaccurate here.
but every tv show/movie I see there is a 5’4” woman defeating multiple 6’ 200 pound males with moves I never saw Bruce Lee make...
In the minds of our Big Gov federal tyrants, the difficulty of any test discriminates against anyone who cannot pass the test.
Except for white males who overwhelmingly vote against Big Gov federal tyrants.
I strongly suspect that the average day-to-day physical requirements of a Pennsylvania state trooper consist of holding down the front seat of an Interceptor and doing ball-point pushups.
Really? How hard can it be to patrol every Dunkin' Donuts and to ignore marauding Black Panthers at polling places?

When I was in the academy one female was 5'0" and about 90lbs. I'm 6'3" 220. She was always bragging about the Karate classes and shit she had taken. Our PE instructor paired me up with her for boxing and told me not to touch her.
I did the old put my hand on her head and hold her routine. 8)
She got pissed and said she would file a complaint because we were treating her different because she was a female and short.
So the Instructor told me to go at it. She came at me and I popped her. She hit the mat hard. ;O
I feel sorry for whoever got partnered with her. Me I worked on the otherside of the State.
