Spaetzel said in his email, “Regarding the celebrities offering rewards to help find who committed [these] terrible acts, reward money is not necessary as we have identified the participants. However, we are grateful for their offers and would like to assist if they are willing to contact the BVPD directly.”
No one has been charged in the prank, and no one has been arrested.
Also on Monday, Dean Valore, a lawyer representing the family, said offers of support have been pouring in from across the country and around the world. On Friday, some Bay Village residents staged a rally to show their support for the teenager and to promote tolerance.
Valore said his office is cooperating with Bay Village police on their criminal investigation, which he said is proceeding “very swiftly. I think we’re going to have justice.”
