MH17 disaster: Russians 'controlled BUK missile system'
BBC ^ | 09/08/2014 | John Sweeney

Russians were operating a BUK missile launcher seen in the area where the Malaysia Airlines passenger jet MH17 was shot down, eyewitnesses have told Panorama.

Distinctive shrapnel damage to the plane points to a fragmentation weapon - such as a BUK - downing the plane.

The Kremlin had previously suggested that the missile was from a Ukrainian fighter jet.

Pro-Russian rebels have denied any possession of a BUK.

However, photographs and videos cast doubt on the claim by the Kremlin and pro-Russian rebels - that they did not have a BUK missile launcher on their territory.

Three eyewitnesses, all civilians, separately told Panorama that they saw a missile-launcher in rebel-held territory a few hours before the Boeing jet was hit.

Old news. The Ukrainians believe, since the radar itself was still in Russia, that the Russkies intentionally meant to hit an airliner. Just that, they wanted to hit a Russian airliner that was in the skies at the same time. The idea being to kill Russian citizens and blame it on the Ukrainians. Since Russkies are drunk half the time, they failed miserably.

If correct, the Kremlin has to explain to the relatives of the 298 passengers and crew who died - including ten Britons - why Russian military personnel were allegedly seen in the area escorting a BUK shortly before MH17 was shot down.

Good luck with that. In 1983, they recovered the cockpit voice recorder of KAL 007 and hid that fact from us, knowing it disproved their claims of radio contact, warnings, etc...

The Kremlin, it’s all the same tune as when they shot down KAL 007 or shot down MH 17.

The American Putin apologists in 2014 are no better than the Brezhnev-Andropov apologists in 1983.

What’s shameful is that Europe is being willfully blind to what is obvious: Russia shot down a passenger airliner and murdered hundreds of people. They have been so corrupted by Russian oil money that they are desperate to forget that Putin is and has always been a KGB mass murderer and all too willing to believe the most implausible lies coming from his lips.

For that reason, I believe that it is important to repeat this fact often and loudly: Russia shot down MH17.

What you are saying doesn’t make any sense at all.

You say the people on the plane were “murdered”, which means you think whoever shot down the plane knew it was a commercial passenger plane and shot it down intentionally.

What motive did they have for doing so?

How did it benefit them?

Ukraine also shot down a passenger plane in 2001, and the USA did so in 1998. Were they murderers too?

The logical answer is that all 3 incidents were accidents, misidentifications.

Perhaps sending a passenger plane right over the center of a tiny war zone where multiple military planes had recently been shot down goes against common sense.

The threatened Brits should of smoked the three jets that buzzed them today over the Black Sea.

The present case can be distinguished because Russia refuses to accept responsibility for having shot down MH17. Instead, Russia points the finger at everyone else: a Ukrainian ground attack plane did it; those flying the plane were asking for it, and so on. That very refusal to accept responsibility indicates a degree of culpability that goes well beyond saying, “sorry, it was an accident.” I believe it is appropriate under the circumstances to view the actions as Russia as deliberate. Otherwise, why not admit to the West, to the families of the victims: yes, we were responsible, we are sorry and we will compensate you for what happened. Instead, Russia has responded by introducing even more surface to air missiles into Ukraine.

So when is the Black Box data from MH17 going to be released? They've had the boxes a long time now and not a peep.

The black box is with the Dutch. I believe a report is supposed to be released this week.
