The millenials may steer us leftware but the country has already been moving left for many decades with the long and steady rise of big government. So previous generations have also played a role in moving us leftward IMO. The millenials are just continuing the long term trend.

But one thing worth noting in regard to this shift is the ever incrasing crushing national debt load. We are inexorably moving toward an unsustainable fiscal situation. As Margart Thatcher so aptly said “eventually you run out of other people’s money”. So I think liberalism will eventually collapse under its own weight. Government cannot expand indefinitely.

I firmly agree, but I also think it will be a very rough time. WWII rough.

You are probably right in the long run. However, the real question is what will it be replaced with. I fear it will be 20 times worse.
