Should Mitch McConnell Be Next Senate Majority Leader? Cruz Won’t Say
ABCNews.com ^ | Sep 7, 2014 2:43pm | Benjamin Bell

In an interview with ABC News, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, predicted his party would reclaim the Democratic-controlled Senate in November, but he declined to endorse current Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., as the party leader should there be a transfer of power in the upper chamber of Congress.

. . . . .

But when asked if he would endorse McConnell — currently embroiled in a tight race for his Kentucky Senate seat — as Senate majority leader, the Texas Republican said that is a decision that would be made “when the time is right.”

“Well, that will be a decision for the conference to make, but I am confident we will have a new majority leader,” he said.

AMEN! What happened to letting people vote their conscience?

Prince Reibus is worried. That's why he's dispatched his flying monkeys to Free Republic to frighten, browbeat, and pester conservatives to support his crappy candidates, once again. After all these months of hating us and wanting to get rid of us, he sees November on the horizon and victory is slipping out of his hands.

“we” = you have a mouse in your pocket?

Watch the insults. I've been on this conservative thread a lot longer than you, newbie.

You don’t know me from Adam’s housecat.

I know you to some extent, from your reputation. You've been here for 8 years or so. I first noticed your screen name because I think the 17th amendment is the 2nd most stupidest amendment ever (outside of prohibition).

So yeah... You have a rep. You are known. Known of, anyway.

We've agreed on much more than we've disagreed about, except you wanting to support republican liberals. And me trying to politically destroy them.... there is that difference.

Next question?

We want a conservative— not a rino.

Well, this time around, the conservative got lost in a cock-fighting ring. Scheiß happens. But the rational thing to do is still to vote for the RINO, if only to keep the 'Rat out and make it that much more likely the 'Rats will lose the Senate.

If the GOP takes the Senate, there will be plenty of time to ditch Mitch. If they don't, then the question is irrelevant.

Browbeat the voters he needs... What a sales concept.

I wonder what the percentage of sales is?

Especially with unreasonable hotheads that value freedom?

7 weeks until the elections. The GOP-E won a lot of nasty primaries. Let's see how they do in the General.

He’s certainly showing the signs of a troll, that’s for sure. Can’t support his claims. Goes to insults right off the bat. Gets emotional. Clear signs.

What exactly is the GOP vision for America if power is given to them?

Are you talking about the GOP vision, or the GOP-e vision? There is a big difference.

Because I have not heard one thing. No plan, no vision

I have heard one thing from the ruling class....repeal Obamacare.

...no platform.

There is a platform for every state, and a national platform. The voters create the platforms, not the politicians.

fine.

I still think it's one of the great deluded that are in denial, thinking that republican somehow equals conservative, when objective reality proves that isn't the case.

I don't smell troll. I smell delusion.

Overall, a Democrat by far. We need to get rid of Harry Reid. He is losing it and is a danger to this country. Also, several RINOs voted against Obamacare. But not a single Democrat voted against it.

What republicans voted for cloture, so the dems would have a chance to vote on it?

That's the question.

And you have no frigging clue.

And who was responsible for allowing the Obamacare vote to take place?

Mitch MConnell , by allowing a cloture vote.
You should get all the facts, not just some of the facts.

Oh? Are you saying that I didn't get told that I have blood on my hands for not voting for the republican liberal?

I beg to disagree.

I've been told repeatedly that I MUST vote for the liberal republican bastards, or I elected Obama singlehandedly, or something.

May very well be. Like a Stockholm syndrome individual, they've been mentally and emotionally conditioned by their "captors" (the statist GOP) to cling to the Republican candidates no matter what ("Democrats evil!"). Then, when shown the light, they cower and hiss, and want to flee back into the GOPe cave where it's familiar.

That's the reaction I've seen. They certainly don't approach things with any kind of objective logic, they use canned logic and if you go off-message, they respond with personal attacks.

Always with the personal attacks.

I don't know about you, but I'm fairly tired of the personal attacks.

I wouldn't count the seats until after the election. I would count on the GOP to screw it up if possible. They seem to think they have it in the bag, that they can win just by not being Obama. They need a new Contract with America to give voters a reason to vote for them, not just against Obama.

Nate Silver's estimate doesn't leave a lot of room for error.
