Should Mitch McConnell Be Next Senate Majority Leader? Cruz Won’t Say

In an interview with ABC News, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, predicted his party would reclaim the Democratic-controlled Senate in November, but he declined to endorse current Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., as the party leader should there be a transfer of power in the upper chamber of Congress.

. . . . .

But when asked if he would endorse McConnell — currently embroiled in a tight race for his Kentucky Senate seat — as Senate majority leader, the Texas Republican said that is a decision that would be made “when the time is right.”

“Well, that will be a decision for the conference to make, but I am confident we will have a new majority leader,” he said.

It’s almost a Hobson’s Choice; where you are free to make your selection, but will gain in only one way, and then not by much.

I do not want a democrat to take the Kentucky Senate seat.
Go Mitch!
I do want Ted Cruz to be the new Senate majority leader.

One hopes not, but if McConnell prevails over Grimes (and the GOP gets a majority), I suspect he will have a fairly easy time of getting Majority Leader. Mitch is a Beltway Boy through and through, and I’d be surprised if he didn’t have things lined up with all the other Washington insiders in the Senate.

That’s just based on my cynicism about the GOP-E, of course. I could be completely wrong (and I often am, LOL).

Wonder how many democrats ABC has asked if Harry Reid should be leading the senate? All they are doing here is trying to start a food fight amongst republicans before the elections.

Mitch allowed cloture votes for every single Obama bill.

I get it Democrats bad. Harry Reid evil.

But what exactly has Mitch done beside trash conservatives?

“We want a conservative— not a rino.”

We are getting neither. Remember, we are staying home because we won’t vote for the RINO.

Ted Cruz will forever be in the minority, unable to be unleashed on the RINO’s and the RATS.

I am not supporting it, I am not against it. I am just saying how it is.

This is how it will be if the GOP takes the senate.

The 14 gangsters will rear their ugly heads again putting a stop to
anything Cruz or any other conservatives want to do.
The GOP will not confront Cruz directly, but will use The 14 Gangsters
as the tool to stop conservatives.

You have a very short memory.

I see your answer is democrats bad. Reid evil.

Once again, I ask you what has McConnell done beside help Reid
pass Obama bills via cloture votes and trash conservatives?

I see your answer is democrats bad. Reid evil.

And that's all you'll ever get out of them. Logic is not their strong point.

What exactly is the GOP vision for America if power is given to them?
Because I have not heard one thing. No plan, no vision, no platform.
I got news for you. Democrats bad. Reid evil will not be enough.

We can win the rest of our seats, ditch Mitch and be just fine.

I would really like for Mitch McConnell to never win another election again. He's a liberal republican. And he's in the leadership. I don't want him to win.

Ever.

My opinion is very clear.
Ditch Mitch and win the rest of our seats.

You have nothing to offer on why Mitch should be re-elected other than
democrats bad. Reid evil.

Although I have asked you what Mitch has done besides help Reid pass
Obama bills via cloture votes and trash conservatives.

Voting against is not enough. You also need reasons to vote for.
