The federal Tories did not fare well in Quebec at the last federal election in 2011. But they are quick to point out Quebec's leading statesman was a 19th Century conservative who saw an equal place for French-speaking Canada within a new country. George Etienne Cartier was one of the significant movers behind the talks in the 1860s that led to the Canadian Confederation. Its not too soon to recall his legacy and for what it has meant for Canada. It has stood the test of time.

If the Canadians can make "Confederation" I.e., "Provincial Sovereignty and Rights" really really work, maybe there's hope for us.

Unfortunately, to gd many Euro-Weenie Socialists loose and loonie North of the Border searching for the politically correct way to kiss Muslim fundamentalist fundament, the froggies worst of all!

The biggest mistake the English made when the French unconditionally surrendered after the plains of Abraham, was not immediately sending all the French back to France.

True, France didn’t want them to return, but that would of saved the country more headaches than I can count.

Trudeau for example did more harm to this country than anyone else in history, and people wonder why a box of cereal in Canada is twice the price of the same thing in the US, look no further.

That’s just one example.

If Harper and crew are able to make some conservatives out of some French people, then that’s good. I just don’t ever see the majority not wanting special treatment at my expense.
