I'm still going to sit in my local city counsel budget meeting with a very, very large cup of black coffee and argue for them to cut that budget as hard as I can argue.

That is what we need more of....with more citizen involvement and input and throwing out the bums who won’t represent us we can take our country back....even if it has to be a town and a city at a time.
My little town council was going to raise the local millage rate because they wanted to ‘do more projects’ (i.e. spend more money). The citizens didn’t take kindly to the idea and much fuss was made. The council (particularly since it is an election year) changed their mind
