We were talking to some Special Forces guys at Camp Buckner, Okinawa one time who related that at the end Che Guevara cried like a little girl and went out begging when he was capped by the Bolivian soldier.

These guys were all older than us with more service time and that came through their grapevine I reckon. They said Green Berets and CIA were in-country helping the Bolivians against the commies.
