No, Orman got in on his own. But word around town that once it became clear that Orman was attracting more money and stood a better chance of beating Roberts in a head-to-head matchup then Taylor was basically forced out of the race by his own party. And odds are that if Orman wins he'll caucus with the Dems. That's why they're rallying around him.
Which means he’ll lean Democrat. I’m always wary of people who run for office with the independent label whose views are not known or they steer to the middle. I’ll say this about the Dems. They know how to play the political game while our side is still reading the instructions. Make no mistake Orman is in contact with the DNC and they’re running his campaign behind the scenes.
Claire McCaskill may have played a part in arranging the switcheroo when they realized that Taylor was a loser, although I still believe that was the plan from the get go. But, notice how that McCaskill name keeps coming up. When the Democrats decide that someone needs to get out of the race, they get out of the race. If Taylor hadn’t done that he would have ended up at the bottom of the Republican River.
