They’ve totally screwed up kickoff returns - one of the more exciting parts of a game.

Your list is pretty comprehensive, and the most important one, above, is the kick off, which, it seems 9 times out of 10 results in a touchback. The kickers have gotten so good that the ball is rarely kicked off into the field of play, but routinely lands either deep in, or out of the end zone. This is the most BORING part of the game and really ruins the continuity of a team that is hot on offense. My solution? Make it legal to kick a FIELD GOAL on the kickoff! This would really help a team that is down by a small margin to tighten up the game and, since the kickers would be trying for accuracy rather than just distance, make for more returns when the field goals were missed. Hell they monkey around with the rules all the time, why not add a little excitement to what is being to be a dull spectacle? C'mon Freepers let me hear what you think!
