I think Francois Revel wrote about that in “Anti-Americanism”. If the British right are anything like the European right (and I'm not sure it is) then the right is indeed different than what we think. The right there is critical of immigration, but is also very very anti-American and antisemitic. Sort of a goosestepping right wing.

If you read The Telegraph, it’s often not much different than The Guardian covering American news. Then the comments turn into a huge barrage of hate. The anti-Semitic stuff I’m not too sure about because I don’t go on Israel articles. My stomach is weak!
