Abolish all regulatory agencies that take away private property rights. The states should regulate businesses. If one state regulates too much, it loses money to other states. If it regulates too little, the voters can throw the bums out in the next gubernatorial election. The federal government should have nothing to do with business, but manage exports to other countries with tariffs. The K St. lobbyists would be out of business and bribes to politicians would be vastly decreased.

When I read the words of the founding fathers, then read or hear what the current crop of barking monkeys in DC say. ... No way. No effin’ way. 90% of the fools in government probably don’t even comprehend the founder’s words let alone understand the concepts behind them and reasons for them. They have demonstrated a complete lack of appreciation for the consequences of their actions and positions. Revise it? They are barely worthy of reading it.

There ought to be a requirement for all members of the Senate and House to read the Federalist Papers and pass a rigorous examination on the contents.

However.

I have about lost hope that any new Convention would yield any better results than the usual leftie gridlock, now that international provocateurs such as Soros and the Saudis are throwing billions into wrecking the U.S. at any cost.

Our government was intentionally designed to be run
by the House of Representatives (i.e., “we the people”).

The senate and the president were to be little more
than figureheads and administrators.

All the House of Representatives (i.e., “we the people”)
has to do is “nothing”, and the entire system will shut down.

If the political class won’t respect and obey the Constitution we have what on Earth makes anyone think they’d pay attention to a revised version? The machine isn’t broken and doesn’t need fixing, but the operators need to be replaced with new ones who are at least willing to follow the instruction manual.

Good idea, but no matter how they amend the constitution, the courts are going to make up whatever they want it to say anyway.

I have a hard time taking Coburn seriously. I heard him discussing the national debt a year or so ago in an interview. He went on and on about how the current level of debt and spending is unsustainable, sounding like a real fiscal hawk. Then, in the very next breath he actually said “But we must save Social Security”. Huh?

The leftists will take over the process, as they are immoral and ruthless. There’s nothing wrong with the Constitution. This very process will foster further disregard for it. What’s wrong with Coburn lately? (not his illness)

Anyone who thinks an Article V convention wouldn’t be absolutely and completely hijacked by progressives in both parties is living in a dream world.

Don’t be fooled by this carpola. The GOP has controlled both houses of Congress off and on for many years. They could have cut the size of government as much as they wanted. They didn’t want to. GW Bush could have closed every govt agency that was created by an Executive Order. Instead he came up with the prescription drug program and increased the size and scope of government.

Have you noticed how good the Republicans are at voting en masse for new government power grabs but seemingly helpless to reduce the size of govt?

If we take back the Senate in November and elect a Republican in 2016 they can cut the government back as much as they want.

Coburn is wrong. The flaw is not in the Constitution but in failure to follow the clear words of that document. Replacing those words with new words will not solve the problem that liberals are lawless and do not mind violating the Constitution. However, a convention poses the danger of producing a bogus and illegitimate “Constitution” that strips us of legal protection for our God-given rights.

Reverse the Kelo decision.

Need an ammendment to limit the power of the government to seize property under “eminent domain”.

Property may NOT be seized to increase a tax base.

A foolish effort.

The current problem is having the federal government follow the constitution as it is written. We have to fix that before any change to words on paper will have any meaning.

If we can't stop the left in their continual degradation of the meaning of the current constitution, any new constitution will also fail.

This is a risky roll of the dice. The conservatives can't win on relatively small stuff, like eliminating the Dept of Education, but think they can control a constitutional convention? Not one chance in hell.

What this gives the left is one big chance to stuff the election box and win it all.

Thanks for posting this article. Been a lot of chatter about it, but, IMHO, we don’t need no steenkin’ Article V convention!

We need an electorate with the smarts and the gumption to elect Congressmen, Senators and Presidents who have the character, courage and intestinal fortitude to respect the Constitution and the Oath they take!

We can start down that path in November by sending all of the LIEberals home! Let us retire those evildoers!

We the People MUST elect men and women of character, courage and fortitude to go to WDC and start sorting things out!

If we do that in November, November, 2016 will be a piece of cake!
