“Do they drug these guys before they behead them or something??”

I wondered the same thing. James Foley was saying how he was sorry he was an American, etc. With all due respect, he was about to be killed anyway and he knew it, so why repeat that? Why not launch into a few expletives like you, ISIS’ will pay for this; my countrymen won’t stand for it, etc., or at least say something pro-American?
Anyway, we will stand for it, apparently, under Obama.
He certainly seemed beaten and downtrodden. Who knows how he felt after being held for so long.
....and our DO NOTHING CONGRESS SITS back and does nothing either. They are equally as guilty as the imposter we have in the White House...
I wondered too why Foley made that slobbering confession of “guilt” if he was gonna die anyway.
I figured he must have recorded it earlier with the promise of being spared if he read their script and sounded convincing.
I heard on a radio show (Armstrong and Getty) that the reason the captives do this is that the ISIS guys repeatedly tell them that they will be executed many times over the course of months. Each time, they bring them out to the execution grounds and force them to give their little speech.
They are probably tortured until they say what their captors want to hear. But every time, nothing happens and they are brought back to their cell.
When it comes time to actually kill them, the journalists don't know that it's really going to happen. They think it's just another dry run, so they say what they are supposed to say to avoid being tortured.
I don't know where they got this information from, or if it's true, but it could be an explanation.
