We do not have to have FACs in all instances to hit targets. We have PGMs now that do not require FACs. Are we better off with FACs? Yes, that’s true. But we do have muns that do not require FACs. Heck, even for laser guided bombs we can use another plane or another platform to guide the bombs.

IIRC that's exactly what Clinton did in Kosovo. The targets were designated by other high flying aircraft, and when evasive manoeuvers occurred due to AA missile launches the target lock was lost and the bombs went into free fall. This added to the civilian casualties.

Again, Clinton limited “boots on the ground”.

As an aside, we also destroyed a lot of dummy tanks from 30,000 ft.
