Support for Scottish independence has risen eight points in a month, according to a new poll.
The No camp are now six points ahead of the Yes campaign, down from 14 points in mid-August and 22 points early last month, excluding undecided voters.
The latest YouGov poll found that, excluding ''don't knows'', 53% of those questioned planned to vote No, while 47% would back Yes.
This compares to 57% for Yes and 43% for No in mid August and 61% for Yes and 39% for No at the beginning of last month.

England is 5.0% mohammedan vs 1.4% for Scotland according to my googling.
Maybe, just maybe Scotland sees the sh!thole England is becoming and is saying no thanks.I hope they do vote Yes.
Scotland is worse than England politically. There are pretty much only liberals and socialists for the last 60 years.
A YES vote for independence is swell with me.
But I must admit to a lack of skin in the game ...
Amen! Go for it Scotland! I support any country that wants to be independent from the Crown. After all, I am certain that this is what we wanted, right?
Will be fascinating to watch and very historical; I’m going to stay up late to watch voting livestream and find out as quickly as I can.
How about you?
I suppose this is a function of globalization and we will see more and more of this. As one who certainly does not believe that diversity is our strength, I believe, strangely enough, in Woodrow Wilson's doctrine of self-determination of peoples. Therefore, if Crimea with majority Russian ethnicity is inclined to peel away from Ukraine by the means of free and fair elections, they should be free to go.
But then my ancestors lost a war, the Second American War of Independence, fighting for the same principle.
Oh, how the ironies prevail.
No it isnt that. The Yes campaign has the fire in its belly and Alex Salmond is a strong finisher. The gap is closing because they are winning the argument.
Not likely. The scottish independence party is planning to bridge their welfare payments gap by bringing in large numbers of new immigrants. Yes thats right. They want independence, and then they want to give the country away again afterwards.
Scotland is in a much worse state than England. And without English support it WILL go bankrupt. No question.
They are not independent of the crown.
The ‘Yes’ campaign wants to keep the Crown! And comparisons with the US can’t be taken too far, as Scotland is not, and never has been, a colony. The process of Union began when a Scottish King inherited the English crown, not the reverse.
