I get very short of breath when I eat MSG. And too much sodium always drives up by BP - I mean 230/110 up.
I realize that’s not the average reaction - many people aren’t bothered by too much salt or don’t think they are.

Evidence of risk posed by ingestion of processed (manufactured) free glutamic acid (MSG) is undeniable. Retinal damage induced by treatment with monosodium glutamate was demonstrated in 1957 by Lucas and Newhouse. In 1969, Olney demonstrated that treatment with monosodium glutamate causes brain lesions in experimental animals, and that those lesions may be followed by endocrine disorders as the animals approached maturity. The flavor enhancers disodium insonate and disodium guyanalate have a much worse affect on me than MSG. I discussed it with several doctors and they have never heard of a reaction like I have to those chemicals. It has complicated my life to a huge degree.
