Too bad the Polish aren't members of the nuclear club. I know that the Ukrainians wish they were. And the Germans and Japanese better start thinking about joining.

The UKRAINE gov’t was the 3rd largest nuclear power until they signed the Budapest Memorandum with The Russian Federation, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the United States of America reaffirm their commitment to Ukraine (other nations signed similar agreements.) Ukraine honored their commitment & allowed their weapons to be destroyed.

Ukraine, indeed, was a member of the nuclear club. That's what the Budapest Accord was all about. Ukraine agreed to give up its nuclear weapons -- leftovers from the collapse of the Soviet Union -- in return for security assurances from the Russian Federation, the United States and the United Kingdom.

Goes to show how much faith one should place in the international pledges of the Russian Federation, doesn't it? Not to mention those of the United States...
