Dont bet that the American gun rally is over just yet. This week gun manufacturer Smith & Wesson sharply lowered the sales outlook that it laid out just two months ago. Smith & Wesson and its listed peer Sturm, Ruger are down 15 and 30 per cent respectively since January. The simplistic explanation is that purchases of guns after the 2012 Sandy Hook school massacre have abated as it became clear that tightened gun control would not be forthcoming. But that is only part of the reason for the pullback in the share prices. The rest can be explained by the vagaries of the firearm supply chain.

For the last month or so I have been seeing .22LR for sale for the first time in over a year. The price is high and there is always a limit on quantity but still it is out there not.
I recently purchased an AR in 308 and got the last one. Last I checked they did not get any replacements.
And when I bought my EOTech at MidwayUSA, nearly every EOTech optic was sold out.
Yup, nobody is buying guns/s
This is a pay article.
If you click on the article at the Yahoo site, it comes up.
Time to buy Ruger and S & W stock.
Too bad I spent all my money on guns and ammo lol.
RGR pays a dividend while you wait while S&W does not. RGR also has no debt while S&W does.
Can you tell which one I prefer?
Linked article is behind a paywall
Well, I have some of each (product not stock).
Like children they are different but you still love them both.
I think you are talking about B&M sales. But 22LR have been online in quantities all year and even last year. On another topic, steel casings have overtaken the market in most calibers, which is annoying, but this is a free market.
hahaha, yes, Eotech is spotty, but you should also consider Mipro by the Israelis.
What is annoying to me is when some steel cased ammo (Hornady comes to mind) is more expensive than much brass cased ammo.
What is the point paying MORE for steel????
EOTech is spotty? You mean quality wise?????
I know people who have ben to Afghanistan and Iraq and bet their lives on EOTECH. I have heard them described as many things but spotty was never one of them.
Yes, I was in Wal-Mart glancing at the guns when an old man came to the counter and asked for a box of .22LR. To my surprise the girl reached under the counter and pulled out a hundred round box. She even asked how many he wanted.
I did learn later that they limited you to 3, 100 round boxes or 6, 50 round ones.
I also have noticed that CDNN has been selling Colt AR-15s at very reasonable prices. Last week they had Colt target models with quite a few extras for I think $699.00
No article at that link either, just stock analysis of S&W stock.
I DID try all your links before I posted.
