There are cough drops/lozenges that will stop bad coughing - in my experience.
Last I had that problem was a long time ago, but learned that the most *expensive* ones in the pharmacy are the ones that work. Put in mouth until coughing stops, and remove - besides being expensive, taste terrible - and save it for later when it starts again. One try lasts hours, for me.

Thanks. Right now I am waiting for a call back from my doctor to see if I need an appointment or a prescription for a steroid (I hate taking those!)

The new inhalers forced on us by the Green Nazis don’t work and they are more expensive. That’s one way to reduce the population - kill off all the people with chronic respiratory illness. I have written to my rep and senators, and didn’t even get a response. Guess there aren’t enough asthmatic voters to matter.
