What will really happen is that there will be a “build-up” of pressure the next few years, from this year through at least through 2017 before anything really happens. What it will depend on BIG is this year’s midterms. That will be the turning point.
If the Left doesn't keep the Senate and recapture the House in 2 months, they lose any ability to progress (if not lose major ground) for 2 years. If they don't have control for the next 2 years, they'll lose POTUS come 2017 - which means little progress (or major losses) for the next 4, and probably 8, years.
Problem is, their base is disillusioned and the opposition energized. There isn't statistical room for subtle surgical manipulation to pull off the win they need. 👉 If they don't get the big House win (and Senate hold) in 9 weeks, they lose the next 8 years. And their leader (or, at least, figurehead) has an apparent goal of instituting a Communist Caliphate - something that won't happen if the 2016 election occurs as normal.
Yes, this year's midterms are a turning point. Methinks you underestimate what it's intended to turn to.
