I salute you, sir. Might I add...Bay of Pigs.
Did you read WE THE LIVING by Ayn Rand? I read the book and bought a copy of the movie. It really reads EXACTLY like what is going on now... it is about when the communists took over Russia...
California is in the Bible. Song of Solomon 6:11
I went down to the valley of fruits, to check on the nuts.
We just moved back to Texas from California a year ago! I should kiss the ground here!
but we also have a lot of illegal aliens. We always have, being here on the border.
What part of CA were you in?
I used to have a lot of relatives just east of El Paso but time has thinned their ranks.
Please add me to your PING LIST. Thanks. I can see you have been a Freeper about as long as I have.
Question: Have you ever seen a skinny person with EBT card? NO!
We drove up the California coast in 2013 and at a gas station there was a sign “Your EBT card is welcome here” They sell tobacco, cokes, beer, gas. Not FOOD!
We lived in San Marino 1988-1990. Pasadena 1997. Claremont 2002. Rancho Cucamonga 2005-2007. Claremont 2012-2013. Claremont is like Mayberry! Lovely little college town. You are safe walking there alone at night, great village.
Husband is chemical engineer with Dow Chemical, and these were all temp relocations as they were designing chemical plants to be built here. Last time we contracted with Technip while doing design work, using their engineers etc to do the design.
Now the engineers are working with Fluor in Sugar Land Texas on this new design. They have worked with Braun, and Brown & Root in the past, too. These are multi million dollar chemical plants.
EBT, food stamps, and similar programs are pushed by agribusiness and food retailers. They make a lot of money from it. And they make sure that our elected dictators keep the cash flowing.
California is a big agricultural state. Fruits, veggies, nuts, wines, meat, cheese, etc. I had not even thought of the connection between food stamps and producers. But if they stopped, or rather never started, giving out all these freebies to the freeloaders, we would have never gotten into this MESS!
I told my husband they should stop with the food stamps, and he said THEY WILL RIOT! Yet he is in his 60s, has a bad back, and works 20 hours a day, and we get NOTHING free. We pay our house payment, utilities, cell phones, food, insurance, etc.
And my daughter has been studying about big agribusiness and GMO foods, pesticides, fertilizers, chemicals in the food before and after processing, preservatives, artificial colors and flavors. They are taking healthy nutritious foods and turning them into toxic poison.
I was reading earlier tonight about Fluoride and how bad it is for us.
“We lived in San Marino 1988-1990”
Hangin’ with the One Percenters...
I’m pretty sure that this is where George Patton’s family lived. They were very much part of LA’s elite in the late 19th century. Mt Wilson is named for the general’s grandfather.
” Claremont is like Mayberry! Lovely little college town. You are safe walking there alone at night, great village.”
You’re fine unless the denizens of Pomona to the immediate south come pay you a visit. Then you better be walking with Smith & Wesson.
Braun, Brown & Root, Fluor- I’ve had family and friends who worked for them, just not in the chemical end of things. Some of those first tier engineering firms used to have headquarters in CA. And then the communists who run the CA Democratic party convinced them to leave.
There’s pluses and minuses to all of that stuff.
I don’t think I’d go as far as saying that any of it quite ranks as ‘toxic poison’- well flouride might if you swallowed an extreme amount of it- but it’s more that the food selected by agribusiness is less flavorful and maybe less nutritious- it’s selected primarily for it’s hardiness and disease resistance. It has to be able to ship and sit on store shelves for extended periods of time.
If you want flavor and nutrition your best bet is to grow your own produce from heritage seeds. Second best is to shop at farmer’s markets or similar places.
There’s a little magazine that I suspect you might enjoy:

Toxicity is determined by dosage. Minute amounts of fluoride do make for stronger, healthier teeth -- with absolutely no danger whatsoever.
Indeed, in some areas, natural fluoride is in the water supply -- in minute amounts. Those areas get the benefit of fluoridation -- stronger, healthier teeth -- without having to pay for either the Water Dept adding it or the toothpaste.
Similarly, arsenic -- a "toxic poison", but a natural element -- is present in most soils...to some degree. By the same token, it is usually present in our water supply...to some degree. Yet, it is present at levels that are nowhere near dangerous.
It's the dosage.
They are taking healthy nutritious foods and turning them into toxic poison.
Of course, they are. Every agribusiness is trying to kill off their customers. Isn't that just a smart business practice?
With all due respect, your daughter is getting her head pumped full of crap.
bfl
very likely to happen
None of us is a prophet, none of us know the future, but this is a very likely scenario to fundamentally change the United States as we know it
Reference your post #220, I agree, Drumbo. However, the Laz ping list - sometimes funny, sometimes disturbing - iz too hawt to ignore. I wish to be on it.
Besides, have you seen his Desert Eagle .50 handling skilz? LOL
As evidenced by your Post 58.
I’ve been here a long time and I don’t know “the proper method for contacting a moderator.”
Please enlighten us.
Sequester is the season and treason is the reason..... Then there is that oswaldian flu pandemic thang .....
My SWAG on the matter .....
"The worse, the better." ~~V.I. Lenin.
Better for setting up the optimal revolutionary conditions. Out of that anarchy, would come desperate cries for martial law. ANYTHING to get the food moving again.
Goodbye freedom, forever.
