Not a good area to have to pop out unless you are lucky enough to land in a field. Lots of step terrain and heavy mountain foliage if Stauton was the area it happened in.

Strangely worded headline. I have never before heard of regular, reserve or National Guard units, US that is, referred to as “security forces.” It brings to mind Rhodesia circa 1977.
update: parachute sighting unfounded.
A report by a witness of seeing a parachute before the crash proved to be unfounded, it said.

Very bad news. Just checked on the pilot’s status and it was confirmed that the pilot was lost in the crash without being able to eject.
