WASHINGTON (AP) The Department of Veterans Affairs says investigators have found no proof that delays in care caused any deaths at a VA hospital in Phoenix, deflating an explosive allegation that helped expose a troubled health care system in which veterans waited months for appointments while employees falsified records to cover up the delays.
Revelations that as many as 40 veterans died while awaiting care at the Phoenix VA hospital rocked the agency last spring, bringing to light scheduling problems and allegations of misconduct at other hospitals as well. The scandal led to the resignation of former VA Secretary Eric Shinseki. In July, Congress approved spending an additional $16 billion to help shore up the system.
The VA's Office of Inspector General has been investigating the delays for months and shared a draft report of its findings with VA officials.

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Yeah, just like there’s no proof that Mike Brown robbed a liquor store, that we went to the moon or that the IRS destroyed all those e-mails.
I always wondered about this....If you were dying wouldn’t you got to any hospital, like the closest one?
V A ping.
Horse hockey.
The V.A. is free or nearly so, other hospitals aren’t. That’s in the mind of many people.
I have been going to the VA hospital in Phoenix since 2003. If I was dying I’d go to the one down the street, damn the cost!
Not a “smidgen” of proof. Period.
Liars all.
You’re not every veteran. My V.A. hospital is 46 miles away and my closest local hospital is about 4 miles, so you know what I’d do, but I’m not every veteran, either, plus I’m in priority one, so it wouldn’t cost me a dime, not even the ambulance or helicopter ride. But if I was in priority four or five?
I was wondering, “no proof”, did they have any computer crashes? Maybe Louis Lerners computer was sent to them after reformatting?
WE WENT TO THE MOON??!!
Consider too how many of those veterans were of a time and age when faith in the gubermint and following protocol was paramount.
The whole VA story is bad enough without these bullshit claims
You don’t think ANY veterans died due to delays in care? Seriously?
Who died? Name them.
obamacare folks, get used to this answer. you’ll be hearing it often.
Are you drinking again? I don’t work at the V.A., how could I name them? Plus, there’s patient privacy.
About as accurate as the government unemployment and inflation figures.
There were several families willing to go public about family members dying on the wait list.
You missed all that?
