General Short didn’t see a threat either.I wonder if the term, "short sidedness" derived from Gen. Short and Pearl Harbor?
To me, the difference is Short didn't want to see it but Obama is actually on the side of the enemy!

I am sure Germany, prohibited from producing military equipment, harnessed with massive reparations, looked like a de-clawed kitten to most “analysts” of that time too.
