No, the thing is he posed as a progressive and turned out to be counterfeit.

Cornell, he's both and your faux outrage isn't fooling me. I think you're gloating.

It's worth noting that this crowd doesn't use Clintonian Triangulation the way you'd expect.

For instance, Axelrod came out and said that the Texas indictment of Gov. Perry re: the drunk DA was wrong. In Clinton-land, you'd expect Axelrod to come out a few days later and say, 'well, I've looked at it closer and I think the indictment is justified'. That's how they push-pull opinion on the left; someone makes it ok to have an opinion and they all follow. But that's not what's happening here.

The old saying is that you never ascribe malice to that which can be explained by incompetence. I wonder if the left is coming to believe that they've got a dangerous incompetent narcissist on their hands? Will they remove him procedurally before he ruins the party for a decade or more?

Interesting observations and that's a good point about malice and incompetence.

We'll have to wait and see how things shake out, but I think they're a lot like surfers and the weather and water have changed a bit.

There are lots of styles and skill levels on display, but I like to watch how the experienced surfers change with the conditions.

A good surfer knows how to put him/herself in position to catch a swell and, depending how it develops, maybe ride it to shore or wait for the next one.

And even if conditions mandate they get out of the water and go home, in their hearts they're still surfers looking for a wave to ride.

And there's always another wave.
